American Stew in a crock-pot or pressure cooker
2 lbs stew meat
4-6 potatoes, peeled and quartered
4 carrots cut up
2 celery stalks, chopped
1 large onion, chopped (it is always best if you have time to sauté your veggies, but I don’t and it is still OK)
1 bay leaf
¼ c tapioca
2 t salt
¼ t pepper
2.5 cups broth (can use your favorites: broth, water, wine, etc)
Add crushed garlic near the end.
Brown meat in pan together with the onion. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for 8 hours. This can be cooked in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes to pressure.
